Research projects undertaken by the Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence come from a variety of sources. They can include municipalities, private companies and educational institutions. Projects are typically initiated by researchers (including graduate students), scientists, or other professionals from the environmental or waste management field. Current Centre projects are divided into three main areas: solid waste, wastewater, and waste to energy.
