The Centre’s mix of pilot-scale facilities, real-time access to waste streams, and close linkages to researchers allows for a holistic approach to research & development. Opportunities for R&D cover a wide scope of waste management activities—from waste to energy systems to industrial process and effluent monitoring. Our services include these core areas:
Piloting
Facilities at both the Solid Waste Research & Development Facility and the Wastewater Research and Training Centre have been designed specifically for scale-up of novel technologies from bench- to pilot-scale using process streams from actual, full-scale operations.
Research Consultation
The Centre has close linkages to researchers at the University of Alberta and the Alberta Research Council. This enables the Centre to identify and assemble powerful teams to address research needs and problems across the whole spectrum of waste management. Assistance is available in problem definition, preparation of grant applications, project management and report preparation. We welcome the opportunity to work with you.
