Biological Nutrient Removal Course |

Do you need to understand the basics of biological nutrient removal? The Edmonton Waste Management Centre of Excellence, along with its partners, has developed a course about the operating and design protocols necessary for successful removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater.
The course includes an overview of the theory of the biological processes involved, commonly used process schematics, a comparison of summer versus winter operation and process control and trouble-shooting.

The Primary Sludge Fermentation: Theory, Operation and Troubleshooting course builds on and expands the biological nutrient removal (BNR) knowledge of operators at medium to large wastewater treatment plants in Alberta. The course is designed for operators servicing primary sludge fermenter systems in such plants. By attending this course, operators will increase their understanding of fermentation and anaerobic digestion in the relation to their role in primary sludge fermentation facilities.
